Do Not Enter Signs – Prevent Collisions

Does your home border an alleyway in which traffic is only supposed to travel in one direction? Does your business have a lower-level parking lot from which traffic is only supposed to exit? Alert drivers to parking areas, driveways, streets and alleys that don’t allow through traffic by posting easy-to-see Do Not Enter signs. If you are interested in protecting the safety of your customers, clients, delivery drivers and employees, installing directional signs on your property is the best way to demonstrate that everyone needs to be alert and careful.

If you’ve never really shopped around for Do Not Enter signs before, you should know that they are usually very easy to work with and can be installed in just minutes. If you are concerned that you will not know the best places to install the signs, just think as if you were a pedestrian or an employee for a second. Observe the parking lot from behind the wheel of your car, and look for the most visible location from the point of view of the driver. Usually, the corner of a building or the beginning of a driveway is the best place to put the sign.

If you are not sure about how to install the Do Not Enter signs, you should know that the tools that you need to get the job done will vary depending on where you want to place it. Most people will simply purchase a length of rebar, square sign post or even wooden fence posts to place the sign. These posts only need the use of a shovel to dig the hole in the ground, possibly some concrete that can be mixed and added to the hole to stabilize the sign, and a wrench to tighten the bolts on the sign post.

If you want to place the Do Not Enter signs on the corner of a building, you might need access to a few more sophisticated tools. Depending on what your building is made of, you might need a drill and a decent sized bit to make a hole in the siding or the concrete. If you just have wooden shingles or siding, you may be able to get the job done with just some nails and a hammer. Don’t be afraid to ask the building maintenance staff to hand the signs up to you, as they probably have access to all the tools that are needed.
